What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
Your email address, when you give it to us through the quiz or our sign-up forms
Your first name, if you provide it
Your answers to our quiz
Technical information about how you arrived at our site, including the source of your visit (for example, which Pinterest pin or link you clicked) and standard analytics data such as your approximate location, device type, and browser
Any information you send us directly, for example by email
We do not collect payment card details on this site. If you buy a workshop, payment is handled by our payment provider and your card details go to them, not us.
How we use it
We use your information to:
Send you the quiz result and any free resource you requested
Send you emails about our workshops and the things we make, where you have agreed to receive them
Understand how people find and use our site so we can improve it
Group our emails by interest, for example based on your quiz answers, so what we send is more relevant to you
We will only send you marketing emails if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we'll stop.
The legal basis
Under UK data protection law we rely on:
Your consent, for sending you marketing emails. You can withdraw this at any time.
Our legitimate interests, for understanding and improving how our site works, in a way that does not override your rights.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the business, and only so they can do that job. These include:
KIT who store our email list and send our emails
Base44 which runs the quiz and passes your details to our email tool
Google Analytics, which gives us anonymised information about site usage
Our payment provider, if and when you make a purchase
These providers are bound to protect your data and use it only as instructed. Some may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.
Our sister brands
When you sign up, you can choose to also hear from our sister brands, The Colour Rebel and The Calorie Academy. This is optional, and only happens if you tick the box to say yes. If you do, we share your email address with that brand so they can email you directly. If you don't tick it, we never pass your details to them. You can withdraw this at any time and unsubscribe from any of the brands separately.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you're on our email list. If you unsubscribe, we remove you from active marketing. We may keep a minimal record to make sure we don't email you again by mistake.
Your rights
You have the right to:
Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
Ask us to delete your information
Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time
Object to how we use your information
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk
